Subject: [aavfd] In Memory of Air Evac 16 Crew

On behalf of the Underwood-Petersville VFD and the Lauderdale County
Association of Volunteer Fire Departments, we sadly petition the
prayers of our brothers and sisters in the fire service this
morning. At approximately 3:00 AM this morning, Air Evac Lifeteam 16
crashed about 20 miles west of their base in Colbert County. All
three crew members perished:

Pilot - Michael Baker
Nurse - Tiffany Miles
Paramedic- Allan Bragwell

In addition to working on the Air Evac flight team, Allan was acting
director of the Helen Keller Ambulance Service, and a member of the
UPVFD. Please keep the families of each of these crew members in
your prayers, as well as their extended fire & public safety families
in north Alabama.

Sincerely,

Justin Bishop

First of all, thank you to all who have kept the families of these
crewmembers in your prayers and shown expressions of support and love. They
have not gone unnoticed and are very much appreciated.

I am including information below regarding a memorial fund that has been
established for the families of those involved.

Arrangements have not yet been made, but will be posted here as soon as they
become available.

Again, on behalf of the Underwood-Petersville VFD and the family of those
lost, thank you.

Regards,
Justin Bishop

There has been a fund set up for the families of Air Evac 16. Allan's family
has four children and Tiffany's family has two children. The fund has been
set up with Bank Independent in the Florence/Muscle
Shoals/Tuscumbia/Sheffield area. Contributors in North Alabama can visit
your nearest Bank Independent branch.

CONTRIBUTORS OUT OF THE BANK INDEPENDENT AREA:

If you would like to contribute (and I pray that you will, even if it is
just a little... a lot of littles makes a lot for these grieving families)
and you do not live in that area you can send it in to the bank at:

Air Evac 16 Memorial Fund
Bank Independent
PO Box 5000
Sheffield, Alabama 35660

PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG!!

Mon 12/31/07:

Most of you know Larry Jarvis, our Field Program Manager at the Fire College. Yesterday morning Larry's wife Rena suffered a massive heart attack that resulted in three separate episodes of cardiac arrest. She was resuscitated each time and is currently in critical condition in the cardiac ICU at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa.

Despite the serious nature of the situation, Larry has received some encouraging news this evening based on some of the test results. Please join with all of us at AFC in keeping Rena, Larry and their family in your prayers. He appreciates the support of each member of the Alabama fire service family.
