About UsThe Alabama Association of Rescue Squads (AARS) was incorporated under the statutes of the State of Alabama as a non-profit organization on April 29, 1967 in Covington County. Today the association is made up of 111 rescue units with over 3,000 members located throughout the state. Being a member of the association in no way affects the governing body or operation of the local squad. Each AARS member functions under it own By-Laws and operational procedures other than when on a joint or multi-unit operation. Membership is open to any organized Rescue Squad that meets the equipment, organizational and membership requirements of the AARS.

The AARS President requests that ALL squads contact your County Commissioners to obtain a letter from them stating they support your Squad. Keep the original and fax a copy to the AARS Secretary.
