About Us

The Alabama Association of Rescue Squads (AARS) was incorporated under the statutes of the State of Alabama as a non-profit organization on April 29, 1967 in Covington County. Today the association is made up of 111 rescue units with over 3,000 members located throughout the state. Being a member of the association in no way affects the governing body or operation of the local squad. Each AARS member functions under it own By-Laws and operational procedures other than when on a joint or multi-unit operation. Membership is open to any organized Rescue Squad that meets the equipment, organizational and membership requirements of the AARS.
